Georgia Vegetables Commission

The Georgia Vegetables Commission promotes and supports the state’s vegetable industry through research, education, and marketing efforts at home and abroad.

About the Georgia Vegetables Commission

Established by the Georgia General Assembly in 2006, the Georgia Agricultural Commodity Commission for Vegetables champions the interests of vegetable growers across the state. Funded through a penny-per-box assessment from growers cultivating 50 acres or more, the commission supports key crops like tomatoes, squash, peppers, greens, and more. With a strong focus on research, education, and crop promotion, at least 75% of funds are invested in research initiatives led by the University of Georgia and other institutions to advance Georgia’s vegetable industry.
