GDA is soliciting public comment concerning the RFSI program. Between now and 8/23/23, GDA will be formulating its RFSI project plan and seeks the public's input. GDA will receive an RFSI award of $8,518,477 from USDA-AMS, a portion of which will be retained by the agency for administrative and other costs.
Per USDA-AMS: The purpose of the Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure (RFSI) program is to build resilience in the middle of the food supply chain, to provide more and better markets to small farms and food businesses, to support the development of value-added products for consumers, fair prices, fair wages, and new and safe job opportunities.
More information about the program can be found here:
Please note that GDA may choose to focus its program on just one or more of the program's eligible activities as outlined is the USDA-AMS solicitation, depending on public response and perceived need. It may also elect to limit the number of applications accepted and/or approved in order to maximize the impact of awards.
This notice is a solicitation for public comments only. No applications for Georgia's RFSI funds will be accepted until later this year or early 2024 when the open application period/RFA will be announced and posted on GDA's website as well as through its social media channels.
