Georgia Response Plan for HPAI in Poultry

The overreaching goal of the Georgia Response Plan for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza in Poultry (Plan) is to detect, control, and eradicate an outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza virus (HPAI) in all types of Georgia poultry.

The Plan itself is an executive summary of the overall plan and includes specific authorities, agencies involved, an overview and/or listing of general methodologies, approaches and their priorities, an outline of Plans (e.g. communication, vaccination), and other provisions.

Accompanying the Plan are Annexes with more detailed descriptions of specific aspects of implementing the plan.  The Annexes are intended to include policy, lists, guidelines, Memoranda of Understanding, references, and forms.

The Georgia State Agriculture Response Team (GA SART) has developed Standard Operating Guidelines (SOGs) that include specific resources (e.g. equipment and supplies) and step-by-step directions in a standardized format.

The Georgia Department of Agriculture expresses sincere appreciation to the many, many contributors of the plan, including representatives from the government, academic and private sector.
