Two Ian’s Wheat Free products recalled for potential Listeria contamination

Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Gary W. Black alerts consumers to the recall of two wheat-free products that have the potential to be contaminated with the Listeria monocytogenes organism.

The products being recalled are: Ian’s Wheat Free, Gluten Free Mac and No Cheese and the Ian’s Wheat Free, Gluten Free French Bread Pizza. There is a risk these two products have been contaminated with Listeria.

Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the frail, elderly and those with weakened immune systems. Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women.

Distributed to retailers nationwide and sold in the frozen foods section of the supermarket, the two Ian products are packaged in eight-ounce boxes.

  • The Ian’s Wheat Free, Gluten Free Mac and No Cheese have the use-by date of 26Aug2011 and UPC code 7-49512-43670-8.
  • The Ian’s Wheat Free, Gluten Free French Bread Pizza, with a use-by date of 28Aug2011, has the UPC code 7-49512-91572-2.
