Broccoli Cornbread

1 1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 cups self-rising cornmeal mix
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 (8-oz.) pkg. frozen chopped broccoli, thawed

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Grease a 9-inch baking pan. Place in oven to heat.

Combine milk, oil and eggs in a large bowl. Add cornmeal, onion powder and black pepper.  Stir just until moistened. Fold in cheese and broccoli. Pour batter into preheated pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes. Cut into wedges and serve hot.
