Our Inspectors
As of March 2009 we have 2 field supervisors, 10 active inspectors, and one inspector out on Workers Comp; This translates into having to cover 3 vacant territories - vacancies due to budget restraints. Click here to view which inspector is responsible for your area. The Equine Health Field Staff are responsible for enforcing the Equine Laws throughout the state. Their duties include but are not limited to:

Investigating complaints of inhumane care and treatment

Inspecting licensed and unlicensed stables

Inspecting equine sales

Inspecting horse shows, rodeos, parades, and other events

Caring for impounded equine and managing 3 impound facilities

Enforcing disease eradication laws

Investigating reports of stolen equine

Enforcing dead animal disposal laws

Speaking to various organizations on equine issues

Responding to equine involved in disasters
