Christmas Tree Growers to Meet
The Georgia Christmas Tree Association has scheduled its annual 2008 fall meeting September 20-21 at Walter Lee’s Greenbriar Creek Farm in Bishop, Ga.
Featured speakers will be Dr. Jean Woodward of the University of Georgia, who will make a presentation on Christmas tree diseases, and UGA’s Kent Wolfe, who will give an overview on agri-tourism. Training sessions and business meeting also will be held.
A farm tour in the afternoon session is designed to give growers a chance to see the way the farm operates, including a discussion of procedures with other experienced growers. Several vendors will be on hand offering supplies to growers.
