Weather Service Seeks Volunteer Observers

The National Weather Service is in search of volunteers to join the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network, also known as COCORAHS.

This program will help meteorologists, researchers, the media and others see and study the variability of precipitation across Ga.   The precipitation data will be made available on the Internet.

Volunteer observers record precipitation information using a four-inch rain gauge and record their observations onto the COCORAHS website.  To learn more about the program, visit website www.cocorahs.org.  Questions not answered from information on the website can be directed to COCORAHS State Coordinator Chris McGehee at Christine.mcgehee@NOAA.gov.
